So far, the year has been exciting and fulfilling.
From gallery shows in New York to shooting film portraits for New Orleans nonprofits, and exploring the conferences and club meetings, it's been an awesome year to this point. Doing the actual work is its own reward, and makes it all worthwhile. Look for my book coming soon. -JP

As another trip to New York approaches, I'm excited and preparing work for a show at ArtHouse NYC, which is one
of NYC's coolest galleries.
Especially thrilled that one of my images was chosen by jurors as a featured piece in the show 0n March 23-24th.
Come and buy a poster and some of the proceeds will benefit Artx Care which is a great organization that helps artists receive medical care, meds, and supplies that they may not be able to obtain otherwise.
If you're in or near the city, the show (SPRUNG) is at Arthouse NYC in SoHo on White St.
See their website or Social media pages for details on artists and work.
See you there!

As the year comes to an end, I am grateful to all the clients, buyers, and colleagues that have made this one a creative, productive, and rewarding year.

Just returned from another week in NYC. Very tangible plans for a possible move there, but that'll be a slow process as I test the waters.
I love the endless photographic, creative, and professional opportunities there.
I'm currently bouncing from New York, New Orleans, and good ole Natchitoches! Wherever else work might take me, as well, like Orlando, Dallas, and "The Middle of Nowhere!"

I've done some pretty creative portrait shoots this year, and they've been relatively productive.
Internationally published pinup model Cherry Belle and I teamed up twice for shoots published in Garters and Grills Magazine and Pinup Kulture Magazine, respectively. Look her up, and also see some of her photos n the "People" section of this page.
Also, Model Margaret Tuminello and I shot a colorful, graffiti-laden "Spray Paint" spread for Jelly Baby Mag.
Great talents, and a boon to my creative portraiture body of work.
Hair/Makeup Artist and Model Breean Giroir has been a huge help in
that department, as well, and I've explored and adopted new creative lighting techniques into my workflow as a result.
Stay tuned for more amazing images from collaborations with these talented folks!

Happy Fourth!
The Photo Conference last month in NYC was a thrill to be a part of!
Lectures, exhibits, and trade show booths made it great.
The photowalk with National Geographic and Linblad Expeditions, and the Nikon cocktail and dinner made it even greater.
Looking forward to next year!

Working with Renaissance Publishing has been a true pleasure! In addition to shooting portrait and commercial shots for their websites and publications, It's opened up avenues for statewide photo projects for local and state Convention and Visitors' Bureaus. As a lover of all things Louisiana, this has been a special treat for me. I love my job. ;)

Pleased to announce our new officers in the Cane River Society. When I founded this area group, I had no idea that it would grow into the awesome group that it is now.
While I thoroughly enjoyed serving as President 2014-15,
I felt it was time to let someone else take the reigns going forward. We've chosen a wonderful and competent leader in local photographer Todd Westfall. In addition, we elected our friend, (and CRPS co-founder) Gary Collins as VP,  Emilee
Self as Secretary, and Jo Nell Burr as Treasurer. Check out their work and look for good news and cool events for local photographers and enthisiasts in the very near future.

Coming soon will be a store here on the site where fine art prints will be available for purchase. Prints will be matted with your choice of sizes, and either black or white mats. Upgrade to a framed, matted print for an elegant piece. My newest prints in my own home are new 20x30 framed street prints, and they rock!
